Quick Note: Watch This Space

Hello from Kobe, the city we call here in the Kansai region of Japan.

Right next door to Osaka, Japan’s “second city” to Tokyo (even though Yokohama technically has a higher population), Kobe is also well situated between Himeji Castle (Japan’s finest castle) and Kyoto, Japan’s historical capital and massively popular destination among international visitors.

Throw in Nara (the original capital that’s famous for deer roaming the streets nowadays), Uji (a green tea hub), Wakayama (home to serene temples and lush nature), Awaji Island and a host of other great spots, and the Kansai Area is hard to beat when it comes to Japan travels.

As you can imagine, it makes living in this part of Japan pretty darn great!

That’s how we came up with the concept for the “Kansai Quick Note.” In this weekly series, I’ll be musing about a variety of things seen and experienced here in the Kansai Area and around Japan.

In our other blogs and resource articles, we’ll be covering Japan travel in-depth, focusing on destinations, local experiences, food and other aspects of Japanese culture that are of interest to inbound travelers.

For this series, I’ll do my best to bring you more personal observations and anecdotes. My take on life in Japan, as someone who’s not originally from here but calls it home.

Got any suggestions, thoughts or requests?

Don’t hesitate to let us know, either in the comments below or through our contact form.

For now, I’ll sign off from Kansai and encourage you to watch this space.

Until next time, happy travels!
